Emer Lenihan

Visiting Ballet, Contemporary & Jazz Teacher

Emer began dancing at the age of 4 with Regina Rogers School of Ballet (now Galway Ballet Academy). She was then accepted into London Russian Ballet School where she trained for one year. Emer then completed a 3 years Diploma in Classical Ballet, Vaganova Method.

During her professional training at Brussels International Ballet School, she competed in numerous international competitions abroad including the Grand Prix Kiev in the Ukraine where she was awarded the second jury prize at the age of 17.

Emer was also awarded a Bronze Medal at the Valentina Kozlova International Ballet Competition in the contemporary category which was her own choreography.

Following her graduation, she was awarded the 2020 Open Call Bursary apprenticeship with Ballet Ireland. Her many roles include touring with Ballet Ireland’s Nutcracker Suite.

Since then, she has worked with multiple companies and choreographers including Italy’s Etoile Ballet Company, Creative Scotland, The Ukrainian Classical Ballet (touring Europe) and Cork City Ballet.

Emer is currently working on multiple projects with her own choreography in the UK and Europe. She also Principal Dancer with Tani Gill Dance Company UK.

Emer has contributed hugely to the repertoire of the school in ballet, contemporary and jazz.  She has encouraged students to participate in examinations, both national and international competitions, where her student achieved excellent results.
